National Certificate: OD ETD Practices
ACTIVE - BLENDED LEARNING
The purpose of this programme is to enable the learner with the necessary knowledge, skills and attitude to function effectively as in Education, Training and Development Practitioner.

On completion of this program learners will be able to:
- Analyse needs and plan and design learning.
- Facilitate learning in routine and complex situations.
- Engage in and promote assessment practices.
- Facilitate and manage skills development in an organisation.
- Define and evaluate standards.
- Evaluate Human Resource Development interventions.

It is assumed that practitioners have expertise in the subject/ occupation field in which they intend to provide education, training and development, at a level required to engage meaningfully in ETD within that field, and have a Certificate / Diploma at least at level 5.
OPTION 1 (Online training via the blended learning approach):
Learning Journey and Duration: You have 12 months to complete this programme. Included in this programme are virtual sessions of 2 hours each, self-directed learning activities as well as preparation for summative assessment.
OPTION 2 (Group bookings for onsite training – minimum of 10 delegates):
Learning Journey and Duration: 25 Days of classroom training.
Assessment Details: The purpose of the qualification is achieved via demonstration of competence in terms of the exit level outcomes, which in turn are a function of the associated unit standards. Summative assessment will take place after completing the training, for each module. Candidates will be assessed in an integrative manner per exit level outcome according to the qualification rules. All assessment evidence will be uploaded on the Learning Management System (LMS).
Certification: This includes obtaining endorsement from the ETDQA.

Learning facilitators, Assessors, Learner and learning supporters and Skills Development Facilitators.
The development of skills within and for the workplace is a priority within South Africa, as supported by legislation, national policies and strategies. Much of the needed skills development is carried out by people who have knowledge and skills within their area of expertise, but lack the required skills in relation to ETD. Many of the skills development objectives, nationally and within companies and organisations are met through the efforts of ETD practitioners operating at the level of this qualification.
Delegates who have completed the OD ETD level 5 will receive exemption for unit standards already completed successfully. Refer to the program scope for a list of relevant unit standards to use as a checklist.
