Purpose of the Programme: 

The purpose of this programme is to equip learners with the skills and competencies to lead and manage a team of first line managers to enhance individual, team and unit effectiveness. This programme is intended for managers in all economic sectors. These managers would typically be second level managers such as heads of department, section heads or divisional heads; who may have more than one team reporting to them.

Programme Outcomes: 

On completion of this programme learners will be able to:

Learning Assumed to be in Place: 

It is assumed that learners entering this programme are competent in:

  1. Communication at NQF Level 4
  2. Mathematical Literacy at NQF Level 4
  3. Computer Literacy at NQF Level 4
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL): 

RPL against these unit standards are allowed. Application forms are available from our offices.

Methodology: 

OPTION 1 (Online training via the blended learning approach):

Learning Journey and Duration: 10 Hours contact session time, spread over 5 days and 85 days for preparation of assessment. Learners will have access to the Learning Management System (LMS) for 90 days and this will include the Summative Assessment.  

OPTION 2 (Group bookings for onsite training – minimum of 10 delegates):

Learning Journey and Duration: 5 Days of classroom training.

Assessment Details: A portfolio of evidence will be submitted within 3 months of completing the training.  Assessment evidence will be uploaded on the Learning Management System (LMS) platform, via a suitable medium, as per assessment guide.

Certification:  This includes obtaining endorsement from the SETQAA.

Target Group: 

This module is intended for anyone already employed in middle management but lacking the knowledge and skills, or anyone being considered for promotion to middle management.
